Smile!

I could not be more stoked with this weeks sketch topic suggested by Josh. Despicable Me was an excellent film that was not only funny, but very moving. I kind of had to hold back from getting all teary eyed at the end. Thanks Josh, this was loads of fun!

Groo - Experiment

When Eric reminded me that I was the one choosing this week topic - I went with the first thing that came to mind. Groo from "Despicable Me" (I had literally just finished watching the movie). I loved the character designs and thought it might be fun to tackle the lovable villain (well, the villain who becomes lovable)

I took this week's topic to play around with some digital painting... it's something I REALLY want to learn to do.

Not sure if I'll finish it, but here's what I had.

Davey vs. Goliath

A random sling shot throw.....brings a startling end to the friendship of Davey and Goliath.

Cliffhanger

I'll admit, I know NOTHING about Davey & Goliath. I believe when Jamie suggested this topic, it was the first time I ever saw the character. Still, once I saw him, this vision popped in my head. And I'll also admit, I went a bit over board and moved from the simple 5 to 10 minute sketch rule I personally set for the blog to a finished piece. However, to see the finished fully colored piece, you'll have to jump over to my blog :)
